Named after one of the historic gates of Central Park and located just two blocks north of its doors, Artisans’ Gate is an elegantly appointed yet casual restaurant offering modern American cuisine.

Our mission is to provide the neighborhood with handcrafted food and cocktails, keeping in line with the artisan traditions that built this great city. The team behind Artisans’ Gate strives to source local, organic and seasonal ingredients.

We work with local vendors as often as possible. From the first drips of coffee in the morning to the last drops of wine at night, we strive to keep an authentic and artisanal touch at every turn.

Chef Marko Ristovic brings to Artisans’ Gate a passion for cooking that began while attending medical school in his homeland of Serbia. While moonlighting in an upscale kitchen to support himself one semester he quickly realized that food was his future and began his culinary journey.

“I had always wanted to be a doctor since I was a child until I realized that food and joy can heal someone just as much as medicine. This is why I take such care when I cook for others.”

After moving to America 4 years ago Chef Marko has worked his way up to Executive Chef of Artisans Gate where his culinary vision of accessible and elevated food come alive.
